Avoiding fake information in social media

News that are fake have information that shape the vision of the people who read it, it is a intentional disinformation that gives out via typically of news in social media or online media. Many times, media manipulates a person by giving false information that may seem true, with the purpose of confusing their perspective of a topic and with the consequence of you mistreating a person, agency, entity or clickbait only to be able to increase readership.

Hoaxes spread via traditional news in media sabotage extreme media insurance making reporters struggle to cover other news and specially when it comes to elections.

An investigation of Buzz-feed said that it was located at the “top twenty fake news that were in 2016 of the US presidential election”. Michael Raditzky said in social media that he thinks fake new are “stories which can be in all likelihood false that have great impact inside the culture and are consumed with the aid of millions of people”.

The stories are publicized not only in politics but also in places such as stock values and nutrition. It’s important to know the reason and cause of fake news and know when the information is fake or exaggeration. Propaganda can be considered fake information too.

Few days ago, I saw something on Twitter, it was a tweet of a picture taken of a signed paper in an apartment building, it said to all the people living there of the new cost for using the elevator, 35 dollars per month. After some research of my own I discovered that the post turned into uploading to “Reddit” again in the year 2013 , “the building supervisor denied writing them to both the author and a reporter, suggesting that this changed into both a prank or an immediately abandoned plan”.

This is something really common and it happens a lot on today’s internet, it is dangerous for false information to be spread and be viral, this has inspired a kind of anger to become a commodity that is risky.

There are many ways to  identify fake news:

If you want to identify fake news, the first step is checking the date it was published. If the story’s being shared in a Facebook post or a tweet, find it’s date, otherwise referred to as the timestamp. Also, check who is the author, if its a recognized author it has less possibility of the article to be fake.

There are also many websites that help you recognize fake news. I recommend Snopes it’s really useful!

For more specific seek tips, right here are a number of the techniques I use:

- Check for the verification.
